How Sweet It Is

I'm so fortunate to have the pleasure of raising my daughter, Isabel. She is such a beautiful soul. Very sweet and kind. And wise. As most of us are, she is a very complex girl. Silly yet serious. Carefree yet contemplative. Outgoing yet shy. Very creative. Very loving (this girl gives the most meaningful hugs)!

As she turns six years old, she is halfway through her kindergarten year. She is reading and writing and making her way in her world. She is still very creative in her play and spends hours with her sister in their own little made-up worlds. She has lost 6 teeth (and counting). She loves to swim and to run. She has been to the track at RCTC several times and runs laps with the biggest, happiest smile on her face! She loves horses, dogs, and cats (and her brother and sister). Her brother and sister love her soooooo much - as do Dave and I.

I am very proud of the person she is - and grateful to have her in my life.

Her birthday went like this:

  • chocolate & banana pudding for breakfast
  • playing with sister
  • trip with family to craft store (picked out coloring book, "ironing beads", and received a stain glass horse project from Olivia)
  • lunch at Culvers
  • home to play
  • unwrap presents ("Penny" book (with Princess Isabella), "Black Stallion CD & book" and pjs)
  • chinese food for dinner
  • petit fours for dessert (as read about in "Samatha: An American Girl"
  • shower & wear new pjs
  • read book and then bedtime!

And here, in photos, is Isabel's 6th birthday (and then a few from the past year):

You did such a good job of putting Isa in to words in your post. What a beautiful girl - inside and out. Happy 6th Birthday, Isa!

P.S. LOVE the slideshow :)

A very nice tribute to a very cute six year old! On her birthday, Brian and I reminisced about our Super Bowl party and Isa's first outing...I fully admit I was a complete baby hog, wanted to snuggle her all night!
