Calling My Bluff

I know that if you threaten something you should follow through with it...but today my bluff backfired on me.

Olivia didn't want to go to school today. She wanted to stay home and play with her mice and fabric scraps (which she and her sister have been cutting rugs, blankets, ponchos, etc from). I told her that we were leaving and she would be here alone if she didn't come. Usually that works. Not today. I went so far as to turn off the lights, take Isa and myself to the car, get loaded into the car, and back the car out of the garage. Still no Lucy. So, I went back to the house (I fully expected her to be crying at the outside door, begging me to wait). She is sitting in the house, not one bit afraid or bothered by the fact that she thinks we left. Shouldn't a kid be a little intimitated to be left alone in the house? Nope, not her, I think she was thrilled to have the house to herself. Too bad I came back and spoiled her fun!

These are the mice, "Calico Criters", that they got for Christmas from their cousins Lulu and Bridget. Both of the girls will play for hours with these mice. They create "mouse houses", beds, clothing, hideouts, and whatever else they can dream up for these critters!

Lulu says she wants to make a setup just like this onefor her penguins! Bridget says she wants to make a setup like this one for her cats.
