Not Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Snow

Can keep a garage-sale-er down.....and YOU know who you are!! Garage sale season began about a month ago, and every weekend since then I (and a few other addicts) have been facing down the weather to amass bargins galore. We've been out in snow, sleet AND rain so far!!

This week was especially bad, because I couldn't even WAIT until Saturday. On Tues. I began watching the paper for hints of what the weekend will bring. On Wed. I started feeling that URGE to pull out the pen to begin circling ads. On Thurs. I admit, I NEEDED to go to a few. And by Friday - I CAN'T STAND IT! No longer will waiting until Saturday do. So - now I need to find a way to convince my husband to be at home on Fridays so that I can get the "really good deals". At least until school is out and I can find a babysitter!! I think each year I get a little worse (although my finds get a little better!). And it is important that I have a friend (ENABLER) to share this passion (ADDICTION) with. I've learned from Cristin that you should MAP OUT your route - to make the most efficient and effective use of your time. We can hit so many more garage sales that way. And, we know our kids' sizes, so we can help one another locate that treasure that must be purchased from the bottom of a rumpled pile.

I did go to sales on Thurs (with Isa) and Fri (with Cristin). I couldn't muster the strength to go on Saturday. I was just too tired, AND I had found so many cute clothes on Friday that I could be at peace with not going. On Friday Cristin and I were on a roll, but we had to take a little break to pick up Olivia from school. Darn kid. I guess I should warn her teachers that HELLO - it is garage sale season - so Olivia might be waiting on the benches on Fridays!

Ahhhhhhhhh.....the happiness of the season!!!
