Summertime

The last day of school for the girls was Thursday. I can't believe it is JUNE already - and Isa has completed Kindergarten!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

The school year has come and gone, as have the mornings alone with Isa and Jack. I'll miss having Isabel home with me in the morning - she really has been my little helper and friend. In school this year she has learned to read and with her last swimming lessons she has learned swim! She has also become much more social.

On the last day of school, she thought I was picking her up. We had a conversation earlier in the week in which I said that MAYBE I could pick her up on the last day. Apparently that meant I WAS picking her up. On Thursday I was waiting outside for the bus to drop her off, but it never came. Finally I went in to check the time and it was WAY past drop off! I thought she had maybe gotten on the wrong bus, but when I went to pick up the phone I had messages from the school. "We have Isabel in the office, she thought you were picking her up". So - while the staff at school were probably wanting to go home, I show up 45 minutes late to get my daughter!! I felt really bad because she OBVIOUSLY had wanted me to pick her up! The kicker to the story is that when I came in from waiting for the bus, I expressed my concern for our missing daughter to Dave, and he said "Oh, she was telling me this morning that you were picking her up today"..........

Olivia had a much less interesting pickup from school!! She, too, had a wonderful year! She has the best teachers and she has learned so much in the area of science and reading this year! She will be back at RMS in the fall, and I'm excited for her - it is a wonderful place!

I'm looking forward to the summer, with the hope of having babysitters here and there!!! :)
