Through a Child's Eyes

A recent conversation with Olivia:

I asked her if her friend, B. is Chinese.
O: No.
O: A & O are Chinese and French
O: And they speak a little "plain", too.
M: What's plain?
O: You know, like we talk

Because her friends are learning Chinese & French, they are Chinese & French. And English is just "plain". Of course.
