This Week

This week is going by too quickly! I was lucky enough to get rid of both of the girls at the same time for the week (Err, I mean, enhance their knowledge by sending them for some enrichment)! Isabel is in Girl Scout day camp and Olivia is at RMS for a week of summer school.

Isa is loving Girl Scouts, but each day I feel a little bad that I'm sending her waifish little self out into the heat all day long (they are outside the entire time!) to hike, sing, cook over a hot fire, etc, etc! She is having a great time, though. Unfortunately, she had to miss Wednesday's "Water Fun Day" because she got sick Tuesday nite. (On a side note - the kid has NEVER thrown up in her entire life, until Tuesday nite. Which was, OF COURSE, the nite before I had to be to work at 7:30 the next morning for a board retreat.) Since she is really enjoying Girl Scouts, I'm going to see if there is a troop associated with her new school and perhaps she can join.......cookies anyone!!??

Olivia is learning about ponds this week. She did paper-machet (is that how you spell it??) on Monday but hasn't brought it home yet - apparently it still needs to be painted - I think it is supposed to be a frog, but we'll see! She also probably now knows more about pond-life than me - she told me that frogs hibernate at the bottom of the lake. And that cardinals eat frogs (but I don't know if that is true!).

I have been busy, too. I was in catch up mode on Monday, lots of cleaning and laundry. 5 loads, at least! The previous two weekends were busy with the baptism and then a trip to the Field's in Il. On Tues. I had a meeting for a volunteer committee on which I serve. On Wed. I did actually WORK for my "real" job. I was really dreading it and didn't want to go, but once I was there it was actually fun and got me excited again for work. Of course, it was probably more fun and more exciting because I don't have to GO BACK until January! And, because I was merely a participant, rather than a leader.

Today, I got to go to a few garage sales - and I spent a good chunk of money on a Christmas present for Isabel. A complete "American Girl Minis" horse and stable set. It is soooooo cool - I am (I mean she is) going to love playing with it!

Tomorrow is my last day of freedom for awhile, in which I only have Jack at home. Next week it's back to all three kids. But, I don't mind - it's been a fun summer with them all this year!

And, here is a pix. of Olivia, because I just noticed that I haven't posted any of her for some time (Middle child???)
