In the morning, before school, Olivia got her present from Isabel - a HUGE Scooby Doo coloring book (hmmmm...who is this present REALLY for?) and some charms (jibitz) for her Crocs.
We had a small "sun celebration" at her school, with her classmates - which was so sweet and beautiful. This year, the WHOLE family was there, so Olivia chose Isabel to help pass out the graham crackers and cider. Of course, Isa being Isa, she kind of took over and ran the show - directing Olivia what to do. But, Olivia was just so happy and content and didn't seem to mind.
For dinner she requested hard boiled eggs (strange......I KNOW!), strawberries, and cinnamon rolls. THEN for dessert she had cupcakes (decorated with Scooby Doo). After dinner she got her present from us - a big play horse.
On the Friday after her birthday, as a present from Grandma & Grandpa, we went to the Children's Museum in St. Paul. Me, Dave, Isa, Jack, and Grandma. The girls had a lot of fun - they spent most of the time in the grocery store and play restaurant.
Before school as she was getting dressed, our conversation went like this:
Me: Did you tell anyone that it was going to be your birthday today?
O: I told Abby but she wasn't listening
Me: She'll know for sure today!
O: Yeah, 'cause I'm all fancied up

And Sarah, I am so glad you are recording it all. What a nice way for Olivia, Isabel and Jack to know about a time before they can remember.
