Labor Day Weekend

The weekend started with a quick haircut on Thursday. I mean quick - I told the girl I had 20 minutes! And I decided at the last minute to cut a lot off! It is now a little shorter than shoulder length. Hair was flying everywhere! She did a great job - just like Zilya from MPLS (the girls will know to whom I am referring!). She cut it dry with a razor - very cool.

Anyway - that was Thursday afternoon. On Friday Isabel and I ran errands and packed while Olivia was at school and Dave was at work. Then, around 1:30, we left Rochester for our weekend. And it was a busy weekend!

We started by stopping in East Peoria, Il and staying overnite. We stayed at Stoney Creek Inn, which had log bunkbeds in the room.....awesome! It also had a pool which Dave and Isabel used that night. In the morning we went to pick up my Grandma to take her to breakfast and visit with her. She celebrates her 88th bday today! It was great to see her and she enjoyed seeing the girls.

On Saturday afternoon we headed to Indianapolis to visit my friend Dawn and our brother/sister in laws. At Dawn's we quickly headed to the pool so the girls could get rid of some energy and we could freeze. After that we went to Billy & Kim's and visited with everyone. Isabel got to have a sleep over with Kennedy - her first! I had a hard time leaving her - but Olivia and I went back to Dawn's for the evening. Olivia crashed and Dawn and I read magazines and talked. It was awesome to see her again. She is Isabel's godmother and a good friend of mine whom I usually see about once a year.

On Sunday we woke up at Dawn's, had a nice breakfast and headed to church. Then back to Billy & Kim's for breakfast, a tour of their new house, and back to Dawns!! ARE YOU TIRED YET!!?? Dave took the girls to B&K's and Dawn and I went to Macy's. She found an AWESOME suit on sale! I found a great shirt at Express.

THEN, on Sunday nite, Dave and I and the kids started our trip home. We stopped at Dave's parents in IL for a long rest that night and got started around 10 or so the next morning. Had a good trip back to Rochester on Monday. And now we are here!

Both girls are in school now. I started my new work schedule - and it is very nice to be able to pick them up after school each day. It is cute to see them both going off together and coming home together. And so far, I really like working every day (except Friday!)
