We did "disappear" for the weekend. On Wednesday night Dave and I decided to take the family to Milwaukee on Thursday while he was there for work, and then go on to his parents house for the weekend. After several "heated" discussions about where we would stay (as in, where are we going to stay in 6 hours), where Lily would stay, etc. we left around 6pm.
Isabel was so excited to stay at the hotel and to go swimming at the hotel (see picture that I call "pure joy"). Of course, in my rush to pack, I forgot my swimming suit so we had to go to the mall to purchase one for me. Finding a suit in general is such a joy, add 2 small kids to the mix and you can imagine the fun we had. No, actually, the girls were great (very patient) and we had a good morning. We came back to the hotel just as Dave was arriving from his meeting so we all went swimming and had a lot of fun. After Olivia almost drowned, that is. Mommy to the rescue to grab her after she slipped off of the step into the deep water.
We got to Dave's parents on Friday afternoon and stayed until Sunday. We had a nice time with Grandma & Grandad and the dogs. Dave and I snuck away for a few hours on Saturday which was nice. We tried to find a suit for Dave, but no luck. I told him he needs to go the "giant" store to find his clothes. Sunday we went to church and then drove home. The girls and I slept for some of the drive and Dave listened to baseball on the radio.
Now we are back. It's Monday and raining, but the grass is green and the trees are blooming. Spring is in the air.
