Isabel got her 1st bike on Friday! Courtesty of the 1st garage sale of the year!
I think every parent envisions their child peddling her own bike, basket in front, tassles flying from the handlebars, pigtails blowing in the wind. Yes - the perfect picture!
It will probably be some time before we get to that!
I forgot how hard it can be to learn to ride a bike - the peddling, steering, coordination, etc! She was very excited about the bike and hopped right on! She can pedal, she can steer, but she has a hard time doing both at the same time! And her skinny little legs have a hard time actually building momentum to get the bike to go if there is not a slight downward slope on the sidewalk! Olivia wants to ride the bike, too, but her legs are still too short to reach the pedals!
